| Farsical and fanciful update of The War of the Worlds, with a significant Burton twist. The film is not nearly as funny as it was marketed. It is, more than a comedy, horror / thriller with some widly imaginative characters and premises. The script shouldve couldve been better. The feeling is that time spent on design could have been spent more effectively writing. The performances are great and ultimately, that is why its worth watching. |
