| A San Francisco cop has a traumatic experience at a great height and develops an acute fear of heights. He is then propositioned by an old friend from school who thinks his wife is going crazy and may do herself harm. The cop follows her and eventually falls for her. During an outing, the woman becomes completely disoriented and climbs a bell tower. He is paralyzed with fear and cant follow her. She jumps to her death and he descends into unbearable guilt. One day, some time later, he sees her on the street. |
